I strongly feel that they need to change TAG to capture more promising black and latina/o students, and to keep out white students who only got in because their parents are pushy or suck ups, rather than because they tested in objectively.  That being said, I don't know how eliminating it entirely would help.[/quote]

So are you for objective testing for everyone or for broader outreach that identifies promising students? Those of us who have smart kids with learning disabilities that affect test performance would also like the opportunity to be evaluated by this measure.[/quote]

I agree.  A problem with ACPS is that it is such a struggle to get them to recognize the learning disability first never-mind also recognizing that a student with a learning disability may also be gifted in some areas.
