He decided he was done with Arlington politics when it became clear that Arlington voters as a whole have no real interest in a balance to the otherwise unchecked power of the Arlington Democrats.  He got into office on a particular wedge issue and then worked really hard to address issues Arlington voters said they cared about.  Nevertheless, he was voted out on a straight party-line vote in favor of someone with virtually no credentials.

Kadera has the support of the Arlington Democrats machine, so she will win the caucus and then the general election.  And Arlington voters will get the same as they’ve always gotten.[/quote]

But probably not.  I’m not saying Turner is a better candidate, I’m undecided at the moment.  But nothing about Kadera makes me think her election will change anything about the way APS operates.[/quote]
