Do you have any evidence for this?  I'm the parent of three kids who all graduated from independent schools and I would disagree.  I'd also say that the effectiveness of in-school college counseling varies considerably from school to school.  [/quote]

Hard evidence? Nope.  Much like everything else on DCUM, anectodal.  Also seems logical given the resources those parents have/are willing to spend on HS.  I'd assume that they either have top notch counseling at their schools or would be more willing than public school parents to hire.  In some cases, we've heard that certain employers pay for these services for some employees.  Not sure how extensive those services were nor how restrictive (only for senior management or for everyone). [/quote]
