My small DC firm hires starting at $65k, which is what MPD officers make after their, admittedly lengthy, probationary period. The big firm types bring the average up, but plenty of lawyers are out there making similar salaries to police officers. (It may be the same for doctors, I don't know their job market at all)[/quote]
