I paid $1.0 million in 2009 and that same house is now worth $1.8 million.  I am also next to Metro, can walk anywhere and a 5 min drive to DC and an airport.

Uh, yeah, you are pretty stupid if you are confusing real estate appreciation with intelligence. I am sorry it’s so confusing for you. You will have a nice little nest egg after you retire from your entirely mediocre career. You can always look back, though, and tell your grandkids how you singlehandedly figured out how to buy low in a recession, do nothing, and enjoy the real estate boom. They will beam with pride, and when you tell them how you could walk anywhere, howl with delight. And the metro?  Simply overwhelming. How did you figure it all out while scheming which mediocre kickball team your kid will play for in Arlington?[/quote]
