Don't write it off so easily! We lived in Austin and LOVED it. It's unlike the rest of Texas- very modern, young, lots to do, beautiful city. West Texas is trash, but Austin is lovely. [/quote]

No, stay away from Texas.  It is an amazing state (the I-35 cities).  So if you are the kind of person who has disdain for it, stay away and don't mess up the great state of Texas for all of us who love it.[/quote]
