400 students deferred from last year in MIT. Hence the spots available are 37% fewer.
wow. bad year
I wonder if the same will happen at Ivies and others this year - reduced space due to admitted 2020 student deferrals, along with increased apps at these schools due to kids who stayed home from other schools and those who are applying test optional giving it a try .
Of course it will. Seniors and their families were smart to have multiple Plan B's thos year, and not to take any admissions for granted. Our Plan B worked out great, but looking at less lucky families I think we were reckless to only apply to 2 state flagships (got honors + acholarships at both). It would have been smarter to apply more widely on that level. My child did not apply to MIT, but her best friend at Blair Magnet was first deferred and then rejected. Waiting for Plan A in April.
