I think the PP is just pointing out that you don't really need to be that crass (and untrue) and that it doesn't sound like you really know too much about McLean in general. Guarantee you live in Springfield or someplace like that.

Actually I split by time between my house in DC and my house in Albemarle County. Not Springfield "or someplace like that", but cute attempt to get all upset that I insulted McLean and then retaliate by insulting Springfield, where I don't even live. You can get down on your knees and cry at the sky as well. Also, I know plenty about McLean considering I grew up in the area, am a third generation Washingtonian, and I watched as McLean transformed from a lovely suburb to a cheaply constructed McMansion hell. The prices speak to the demand and history of this area.  Dislike McLean all you want, but the people want houses in close in suburbs zoned to good public schools.  Whenever I see "cheap McMansion" or "****shack" comments, there is a problem with that individual coming to terms with the market values.  This person clearly falls in that camp and is just highly insecure about their personal choices.[/quote]

I don't think a third-generation Washingtonian automatically brings much to the table when discussing McLean, other than perhaps a preference that it remain largely rural and not compete with DC for buyers.

And his comments were random.  Picking three McLean neighborhoods out of a hat and saying the rest suck is like saying "Kalorama, Spring Valley, and Woodley Park are nice, but the rest of DC is a s***hole."
