So where do these particular rich kids go to middle school now? Or where will they? Private?
Crestwood and 16th St Heights is far from "rich"...
+1. These are very nice neighborhoods, but they're generally not where the rich folks live.
If you are buying there today, you are spending $750K+. That’s rich. It’s just some parts of town are richer.
For a SFH in Crestwood, you'll need to spend closer to twice that these days. https://www.redfin.com/neighborhood/18636/DC/Washington-DC/Crestwood/housing-market
Was coming to say this. I haven’t seen a house there for under $1.2 in a while. Even one that needs work. -Agent
Sure, but lots of people buying in Crestwood are selling their condo or rowhouse for a large profit and putting that down to afford it. It's not a hub of independently wealthy people.
This is honestly the stupidest take. If you buy a home for $1M+ you are objectively rich, no matter how you afforded it. Please try to step out of your bubble some times.
+1 I will add...I’m so tired of “west of park white people are racists, east of park white people are keeping it real” sentiment. Lots of people buying million dollar homes east of the park. But hearing a lot of “ I’m better than west of the park because the price per square foot for my much larger house is a better deal ...and also I’m ‘integrating’ these neighborhoods (by anxiously trying to lottery into charters to avoid my neighborhood school).” Im not saying west of park are better. But I am saying you are no different than the west of park people. So quit trying to tell me how you are a social justice warrior. We are equally causing issues.
