Local leagues in that timeframe
NCSL King

EDP
NPL
NCSL absorbs WAGS
WAGS dead
NPL bleeding
ODSL killed by Covid
EDP taking away from NPL/ECNL R

The only rival on this list was DA. The DA was formed by stealing ECNL clubs and backfilling with EDP clubs. GA is nothing but the remaining back filled clubs...and Tophat, FCV, NCFC, and a couple others. [/quote]

Small local leagues have risen, fallen, been absorbed over the years. It takes longer for national level leagues to both get established and also to be disrupted. Until DA there was no national level league. Since then there have been  5 national leagues; ECNL, ECNL Boys, MLS, and GA.

Locally WAGS was considered untouchable. They folded in NCSL both killed off by CCL. ECNL expands NPL which weakens NCSL further. CCL becomes worthless after U13. EDP further pulls from both CCL and NCSL, especially allowing teams to play in both leagues. Clubs become EDP curious.

In short, it is about to get a whole lot messier moving forward
