As a parent, I can see that from my kids' teachers. I think they deserve generous compensation for their tireless work.

As a political constituent, I'd like Richmond to trade giving teachers a generous raise for [b]tying state level school funding to being creative and getting kids in school 5 days a week[/b] (as long as they don't have a medical necessity for otherwise - if it's not medical necessity families are welcome to look into a private virtual option).  I think the school board and superintendent in my district have failed us utterly and need the power of the purse used against them.

Or we can make our communities (and schools) safe *and* give teachers raises. Then we get the good teachers. Capisce?
