Before the internet and the advent of modern technology including cameras and online-monitoring these predators would have been diddling their own minors + neighbor kids for decades with no one the wiser and no one believing the victims.

This has gone on for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. There's a long history of pedophilia in both the Catholic Church and in pre-modern societies like Rome were it was known as 'pedastry'.

Don't kid yourself. The internet just makes it easier to track and catch them. Had this guy existed in the 1950s do you think he would have been arrested on a 'rumor'? No. [/quote]
