14-16 hour days?  Give me a break.  One of my neighbors is a MCPS teacher and I see her out walking her dog multiple times a day.  What could they possibly be doing for that much time with so little actual class time.[/quote]

Class time is only one part of what teachers do. There are days that I got up at 6 to do Special Ed paperwork, had 2 meetings before school, taught 2 classes, worked through lunch with students who needed individual support, taught another class, had another meeting, hosted a club, and then graded until 11 pm with just a half an hour for dinner.[/quote]

So true.  Stop trying to justify yourself to these people.  They will never be satisfied.  They live to hate teachers because they are miserable in their lives.  [/quote]

+1, if parents would do more and team with teachers (who are willing as not all are from our experience), maybe then things would be easier/better.  Teachers cannot do it all.[/quote]
