OP here. I have thought about the gastric sleeve. But surgery has its own risks and complications. I have the money for it. It just feels just such a cheat way to go. I could lose their weight if I could just control myself. I am afraid that the surgery won’t change my habits. I do need some psych help here. This is addiction. And no I don’t binge, but I sneak all day. I will go to the market, get a piece of pizza and eat it in the car. Or McDonald’s and do the same. Grab a cheeses sandwich at me.I do this all the time. FYI, I have NEVER admitted the last paragraph to ANYONE. Obviously if I stopped doing that I would lose weight! But I don’t. I can’t.
The doctor who wrote Obesity Code says it’s that constant snacking/grazing that causes obesity by spiking your insulin over and over. Try the book and see what you think.
No, to Jason Fung. His meat obsessed diet will ruin your liver and kidneys.
I read the book and never for a second got the impression he was "meat obsessed." IF obsessed, maybe. Are you vegan/vegetarian/meat limiting?
Yes, of course, I am. That is the traditional diet of my people. Veggies and grains for lunch with a tiny serving of meat, if any meat. I do find that once I moved to the U.S. huge portions of meat were standard fare. I was young and stupid. Now I eat bone broth soup and veggies as I used to in my country. It happened naturally too, I was obsessed with meat! As I am getting older I naturally gravitate to a veggie-based diet. Plus insane 40 -60 day lent! No animal product is the rule! Guess what I found out? even if I overeat tortillas during lent, I do not gain weight. Why I dont' know, why don't I gain weight if I eat half a baguette with tomato, vegan mayo, and maybe some fish? Makes no sense.
