My kids go to private, 5 days a week, in person.

Our private Catholic K-8 school is 200 yards from a FCPS elementary that has been vacant for almost a year now.

My wife and I are both FCPS K-12 grads, we moved here for the school and still hope to one day send them back to that now vacant school. But the prospect of that happening is growing smaller every day.  [/quote]

Like I said, we want our kids to go to FCPS. We moved here for FCPS. Both my wife and I are FCPS K-12 grades.

We didn't send our kids this year because why in gods name would we make a five year old go through virtual Kindergarten when there was another option available to us?

We hope to go back to FCPS because we think when open FCPS provide a better education then private. We value diversity and community. But right now FCPS is providing nothing more then a portal for teachers to play youtube clips through.

You said your kids don’t go to FCPS schools, so how do you know this. I have kids in two different schools and every single teacher has been incredible. My son got into an accident, and his teachers and counselors created a care package and dropped it off. They didn’t have to do that. You say you want your kids to go to FCPS, but I too don’t get why since you basically called it’s teachers lazy assholes? [/quote]

Where is the teacher lead effort to reopen schools?

It's easy to come on here and say "FEA is dumb, I want to go back". Where is the organizing? Where is the messaging?

Right now, like it or not the word from teachers is they do not want to go back until 2022 when children are vaccinated. And until we here from some sort of associations that represents the will of teachers then that will continue to be the position of the teachers.

I’d assume teachers are...working. I believe, and correct me teachers if I’m wrong, the message was made clear when there were few resignations and the FEA sick out went nowhere. If you are the PP, it sounds like your kids are in private. I’d like mine to actually have a teacher focused vs. organizing.[/quote]

But you don't get to say your union doesn't speak for you if you don't try to set the tone of the union.
