What looks like a solution for what is hopefully a temporary problem just becomes another very expensive entitlement program. Simply keeping kids in college (ultimately at the taxpayers expense) isn't going to ensure that they will be earning degrees that will enable them to obtain gainful employment. While we do need to find ways to keep college costs down, this program will drive costs up. With the cap on repayment and earlier forgiveness, universities will continue to make increases knowing that students will just borrow more.
