Yoga?[/quote yes this.. why anti cycling? Former runner here cycling is the natural fit. Bike can be bought used for decent price. Pushing yourself on a bike works more than just the legs. The calorie burn can be more than running. I formerly ran 3-4X each week about 3 1/2 miles per run it barely led me to any real fitness gains. I even completed a marathon. I would say I maintained weight and built a small amount of lean body mass. I also had the typical running injuries every year. Cycling I can go hard for 90 minutes or plan a 4 hour ride. Calorie burn is much higher overall fitness level increased significantly. And as lifelong weight lifter I can say it was surprising how much of an upper body and core workout cycling can be if done properly. If safety is an issue I am continually impressed with how thorough the cycling community takes safety.[/quote]
