False. Lived in MD for 5 years (close in suburbs) and beer/wine stores are much harder to find than supermarkets.

You can find wine and beer (not liquor tho) at specialty bottle shops, which are often easier to find than the state-run stores.

I live in IL now and we can buy liquor at CVS and it is a revelation.

NP.. I'm originally from CA, and when we first got here, it was a shocker that we could not buy wine at the grocery stores. In CA, we bought wine at TJ, Costco, etc...

Anyways, I do agree that there are alcohol stores dotted all around us, up and down the pike.   But, I'm in MoCo. Maybe where OP is it's diferent.    Maybe booze stores aren't everywhere like they are here in MoCo.

Fellow Californian here. I've been on the East Coast for over a decade now and it still blows my mind that you can't buy vodka in the grocery store at 9am on a Sunday, like the good lord intended! [/quote]
