Sounds like you should really fight for this marriage tooth and nail. What a winner.
Seriously. What did you actually see in this guy, OP? According to you (and this post) he doesn't sound like he's got many redeeming qualities, so why on earth would you marry him? It'd really like to hear his side of the story. I'll bet it's very, very different.
He has some great qualities. He’s intellectually smart, he’s loyal, he’s good looking and keeps fit, he has no vices, he’s a good provider, he’s a dedicated father, and he’s stable. He was a rock through some pretty turbulent crises we have gone through. I’ve never doubted whether or not he wants to spend the rest of his life with me - he is unfaltering. He doesn’t care about social norms and he doesn’t care what people think about him, so he has his own very clear sense of morality and doesn’t succumb to peer pressure or social influences. He feels no desire to keep up with the Joneses. He is not needy for attention. He wants very little. He can work on a hobby project for months without getting tired of it or bored of it, and finish it after putting hundreds of hours into it-great for pandemic home improvement projects. I don’t know what he thinks of me - mostly I don’t think he does.
