I guess I just don't see this terrible bias against short men in real life. The CEO of my company is about 5'6". I work with 2 men who are about 5'7"-- both lovely men with successful careers and attractive wives. I work with another man who is what I consider very short, about 5'4", he is also successful at work and married. TBH, I find the handwringing over short but healthy children to be really tiresome. If this is your biggest worry, you are supremely lucky in life. - average height woman with a 5'1" mother, a 5'0" SIL, a 5'6" nephew (age 18), and a 4'11" best friend.
+1 I find it offensive as a short woman with a short husband and short kids. We are fine, successful, happy people. Should we be ashamed of ourselves and hide because we are shorter than average?
+2 I'm 5'1". DH is 5'6". Older DS peaked at 5'7", DD will be lucky to break 5' and younger DS, at age 15, is only 5'2". We, too, are fine, successful, happy people. Height is only an issue if you make it one.
