We have local family so we'll see if we can make it work by keeping isolated in the lead up to the holidays. So we haven't called it yet. But I'm also fully prepared for it to not be normal and not nearly as many people as usual. And probably no multiple days of bouncing around to different family member's houses. Just one gathering, and that's it.
Same. We saw local grandparents carefully over the summer; would be comfortable seeing them at Thanksgiving if conditions hold. But the other grandparents, who live out of state, are already planning to miss Christmas with us.
Something tells me your "careful" summer visit won't really work at Thanksgiving. You planning to eat dinner outside on the patio in November?
I can see that working fine, actually. Modified menu, served at 2 or 3 pm on the screened porch.
DP. We're already looking at a big tent with net rain walls and a heater. We used a tent for a small wedding reception in August for a cousin so we'll try a bigger tent in November for a larger group. Where there is a will there is a way. All kids and grandkids will wear masks. Grandparents and elders will go maskless. I think we're going to put the grandparents and elders at a "head table" perhaps even on a dais.
