I went for yoga, but had the wrong time, and didn't want to wait more than an hour for the yoga class to start. I was not intending to use the weights and treadmill.... but I figured I was there and gave it a try. (the is LA Fitness). I had at least 10 ft. b/t me and any other person on a treadmill/machine. They give you a spray bottle of disinfectant to take around the weights machines. I used that to spray and wipe every machine I used both before and after I used it. They had taken about half of the machines out of service. They also removed the big mats that are used for stretching. I wish they had left those b/c I could have sprayed those down (unlike the carpet -- which I couldn't spray down) before stretching. Anyway -- there weren't a ton of people there, but some. I generally kept my distance from others. I always have washed my hands with soap before I leave the gym. So, I think it was a pretty good experience. If it had as many people as it usually has on a Sat. or Sun. morning -- then I wouldn't want to be there. But, with fewer people going, and it being a pretty big space (ceiling is like 3 stories high), I feel it was a reasonable activity. I am going back on Monday for yoga. I assumed everyone would wear a mask -- but after being there yesterday -- I doubt that anyone in yoga will wear a mask. Oh, they also had marked out circles of 6 ft. diameter in the group exercise room. So you know where your space is.
What time of day did you go? Just wondering if there is a time of day that has fewer people in general....
Back in normal times, early afternoon was generally light. And Thursday mornings tend to have less. But I went on a Friday, and it was pretty light last week. As people start going back, I'm sure it will be more crowded. I wouldn't go on a wknd.
