Social Influencers are paid PR/Marketing people working independently, like a contractor for multiple companies. Some are paid in product and samples, others are paid monetarily. It's a a legitimate way for companies to have paid advertisements that look like every day people using and promoting their products. It's way more involved than bragging mothers. Some cook, some sing, some do hair, they all kind of have a speciality of sorts.
