Why do people send their kids across town to overcrowded schools when they have such distain for the neighborhood and their kids’ classmates?
Good question. Why doesn’t the Wilson principal consider a different school when she has such disdain for the in-boundary families?
How about the in-bound parent conduct themselves respectfully - that would be a good start. No one ever talks about their bad behavior and disdain for OB students (code: black and brown students).
IB parent here, and I couldn’t agree more.
+1. Also the black principal who parents hated before she started because racism. If parents have a problem with OOB students, they need to tell their feeder elementary schools to stop admitting them to the pipeline.
Or let them fill up their feeder schools if they don't want OOB kids enrolling in them.
The elementary schools are filled with IB kids. Then DCPS revises the capacity numbers each year and surprise! Now you need to take 5 OOB kids. That’s the reason the mayor finally agree to budget for a new Ward 3 Elementary school before the fire marshal shut down the OOB pipeline. It allows them a few more years to play this game.
