Those who pay are suckers. It needs to be said.
This
Or, we realize there will not be a fall season, but we have the money, want to support the club (which has been great to my DC), and my DC has numerous years left to play in the future. Not everyone is angry at their kid’s soccer club, this is a challenging time for the club and I am fine with supporting it.
+1 I paid up front for the entire year within minutes of getting the offer. I want to support the club because I have had good experiences with them, I like the coaches, and the team. I fully realize they might not play. In other years I have donated to their scholarship programs and fund raising events. It is not about being stupid or not paying attention, it is about helping the club and coaches. If you cannot afford to pay, then don't, but don't assume people who are paying are naive.
If your DC is playing rec and you gave them a couple hundred of dollars to support them, I can understand it. But throwing thousands of dollars to a pay to play operation, when you think is likely that there will be no season, is insane. There are much worthier candidates for charity donations than expensive soccer programs.
Seriously, a little advice is fine but this ongoing campaign telling people what to do with their money is getting a little out of hand. Do what is best for you and let other people do what they feel is best for themselves. So, what business is it of yours regarding what people do with their money?
Based on the last comment the poster probably works for United Way and wants your money so they can keep their job.
LOL +1. Very weird and somewhat controlling nature tell someone who they should donate or give THEIR money to.
Thank you, coach. Where should I bring my deposit? Looking forward to our zoom sessions in the fall, LOL.
Good try. Im not a coach. Im a mom of a kid who loves soccer. We signed up. I don't think there will be games- maybe just practices. Thats okay. Its my money. Its just funny that someone thinks their opinion "There are much worthier candidates for charity donations than expensive soccer programs." Is in fact a guidebook for how others should spend their money is ridiculous.
You can spend your money whichever way you want, but when you post publicly about how you spend your money, people are free to criticize you.
Just because you can, should you?
