A lot of these are clearly just attempts at small talk, because people sometimes get uncomfortable with purely transactional relationships. My kid’s teacher makes small talk with me and I think it’s a nice attempt to show we’re in this together. You sound really unpleasant, TBH. So some of these might be parents’ attempts to see if you have any empathy at all.[/quote]
