MS head is the pits. When my kid was there none of the parents could stand him. Very punitive and quick to punish kids for engaging in kid behavior. Sensitive kids coddled too much by MS administrators. Not reflective of the real world. But, then McLean is like a bubble.
I have a child in the middle school and I do agree with this for the most part. Administrative wise it’s not been my favorite four years at the school. It is completely different than the lower school as well as the upper school. I will say that my child had a fabulous experience at the middle school because of the teachers. Now this child is really looking forward next year to starting high school at McLean.
Is it possible your child enjoyed MS less than LS or US, because puberty is just really hard for kids and they're all finding their identify in those years? It's pretty common to hate middle school no matter where you are.
My child liked MS (I’m the above poster). The teachers really made the experience for him. I am the one talking about the not being crazy about the administration. That’s the reason that we stayed—My child got an excellent education in the middle school despite the administration. let me also say that I have another child at another private middle school Who is also getting a fabulous education. However, we don’t have much to do with the administration there. Again, that child’s teachers are the driving force for us to stay. My older child and I are looking forward to a new experience in the high school at McLean.
