I didn't grow up poor, but we definitely had lean times. I never had anything scheduled or planned for the summer. If I was in my house, my parents would make me work. I pretty much spent entire days in a creek or up in a tree alone or with friends. One summer, we turned a trash can -yes, a trash can- into a pool. Our kids will survive.[/quote]
