Lacrosse tournaments have also been moved to July/August and we got an email from baseball about a summer season. Seems quite likely they’lll be something for soccer as well.
I hope these organizers have a lot of liability insurance....
People keep saying this in a variety of contexts, but it is not applicable. 1. There is no insurance that is available for covid for soccer tournaments, business conventions, etc. 2. Even if there were available insurance that was not cost-prohibitive, then it would be damn-near impossible to collect on that insurance, as you would have to prove you caught the virus at the tournament, business convention, etc., as opposed to catching it in your local grocery store, gas station, hotel, etc. 3. Organizers of soccer tournaments, business conventions, etc. are not forcing anybody to attend, and they will make sure that you will sign an all-encompassing waiver as a condition to attending the event. 4. As a result, you will not have any claim against the event if you catch the virus. And even if you thought you had a claim, you'd have to successfully prove you caught it at the event in order for there to be any liability.
Here’s a shorter legal analysis: waiver. But all this too.
Good luck with that
Luck has nothing to do with that. You can throw in assumption of risk as well.
