Agree. It’s meant to convey that they are so busy they don’t have time for anything. But even if I write 100 emails a day, I’ve literally spent 200 seconds tops, so like 3 minutes of my day, writing these out. And even less than than since, like others, I don’t continue to include them if I’m going back and forth with a person all day.

But I find generally that some people don’t think it’s important to be courteous or polite. There is never any harm in being a nice person.

It may only take yo 300 seconds a da. For me, each time I read “good morning, how was your weekend” I go through a mental list.  If I reply “great, and yours?” Being polite, now I’ve opened a door to a never ending stream of friendliness with someone I am not friends with. It seriously stresses me out to see personal things in an email. Keep your personal life personal. You really don’t care how my weekend went, so why even ask?
As far as “good morning” - no idea when this person is even going to read it.[/quote]
