My eyes got stuck rolling. This is part of the reason why this generation is going to grow up to be so entitled. Most of the kids are being more mature and flexible than their parents about all of the senior stuff being canceled! When I was a senior, I did not care about any of those events and did not even go to most of them. I went to graduation, but could have done with out. You're supposed to graduate from high school! Unless there are extenuating circumstances, it is not special or a huge accomplishment. My parents told me several times throughout my senior year, "Being a senior is nothing special. College graduation is the big one." Most of the kids of the parents who post on here are probably going to college. They'll get to have a graduation ceremony in 2-4 years. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world and 41,000 in the U.S. alone will not get even live another day because of this pandemic, missing prom and high school graduation are small potatoes in comparison. How many kids have you interviewed to determine that they do not care because they are flexible and mature?  Would you roll your eyes if a family had graduation themed balloons out for a family party?  If you and your child don't care...fine.  Ignore the event and the day.  The families I know consider it an important milestone after 12 years focused on the local school events and families.  This is my second kid graduating.  She knows we had a really fun family weekend when her brother graduated.  We are hoping to have more of a college send off for her in August.  Will she have 4 grandparents to celebrate with in 4 years..probably not...and the ceremony will be farther away,.[/quote]

No one thinks HS graduation is an accomplishment. That’s not why it’s significant. It’s a huge milestone, probably the biggest one in life. It’s literally marking the end of childhood. [/quote]
