OP, if you don't work and didn't pay anything towards the house, why would you expect the house to be in your name too? It's not fair to your husband.
+1. If your husband paid all cash for the house with money he brought prior to the marriage, then whether you work or not you have no entitlement to the house. I don't think it would be marital property unless you could demonstrate that you contributed money to it's upkeep and repair or you contributed some kind of significant work to it's increase in value. That would mean something like you were entirely in charge of a renovation (not redecoration) worked with all the contractors, supervised, etc. that increased the value of the house. Then you might be able to argue that you were entitled to some portion of the increase of the value of the house. If your husband is very wealthy or has access to family money, then it is very common to sign a prenup to protect assets he brought to marriage, and I'm not sure why you think you should have a share in that money.
OP here.. Wait a second , what?!? This! I have been in charge 100% of everything you said here and then some. My DH wanted nothing to do with it and even brags to his friends what a great job I’ve done. We’re talking 40 to 50 hrs a week working with the GC but also acting as my own GC with as much as 40% of the renovation work. I've even worked with artisans in other countries with custom design work and even handled the monumental task of getting the items here with customs and imports which nearly did me in. I can go on and on and on and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING.. FYI the home has now doubled in value. This really pisses me off now that I’m thinking about it because basically I’ve been working and stressing for what? Who does it benefit ? Ha.
