I also read the publication (not yet peer-reviewed) on which it’s based, which doesn’t note whether the experiments were conducted indoors or outdoors. Assuming the former, it’s unlikely the virus lives on outdoor surfaces as long as it does on indoor surfaces, in highly controlled conditions.
