My son even has Olympic weights and a squat rack, but the rack is rickety and has no safety pins, so he only uses it when I spot him. No way I'm going to try to do heavy squats with no power rack. Also can't do 245+ pound bench with no spotter (teen DS isn't strong enough to help me re-rack) and a rickety bench rack that I'll knock over when I re-rack the weights. I've thought of doing high rep squats, but if I do enough to get a workout I'll be back at the same issue of not having safety pins and I don't know how to drop a bar with 185 or 225 pounds safely off my back if I fail on rep 15 without a power rack. Plus I _hate_ high reps. And, we don't own enough weights for me to deadlift or floors that could take it if I tried. First world problems, but a drag for me.[/quote]
