Yes, the kids can do what he/she wants at 18, but someone has to pay for it. And even if it’s the kid’s own money, the parents are likely to be paying for college. So the parents ultimately have veto power (I’m thinking of my own background, where college tuition money would have been rescinded by my parents if I went without their approval).[/quote]
