If I wanted the kid gone, I'd just take them home. Lots of uptight people on this thread!
I have another child at home, and we all have to get ready for the basketball game (both kids playing). Plus they live 20 minutes away in the opposite direction of the games and I have no idea if they are at home or somewhere else.
I have been in this situation. What I have done, is I bring the extra kid to my sons basketball game and he sits in the bleachers and watches while I can take my daughter to another location. I text Mom saying hey your son is watching my son play basketball at x location and I am not there as I am taking my daughter to another location. And it’s up to the parent. 11 years old it is old enough for a kid to sit in the bleachers watching his friend.
+1. I don't get why OP is so upset when the kid was picked up an hour late. When that happens and my kids need to get ready I tell the kid to go watch tv or play a video game. My kids get ready and I text the parent we are leaving the house at this time, if you aren't here we will be at this sports venue and you need to pick up your kid there.
You're too logical and drama-free. :)
