I monitor my own weight and my husband does the same.  If we need to lose a few pounds, we mention it - "I'm laying off the carbs for awhile.  Weight has been creeping up."

We don't go around announcing our weight to each other.  There is simply no need.  And the couples that do talk freely about their respective weights do seem to weigh in on the light side.  It's the same thing with cholesterol numbers, blood pressure, number of pull ups someone can do.  Those that can do 17 pull ups tend to find a way to work that into a conversation.  Those that have never been able to do a pull up in their entire life tend not to mention that.

It's basically self promotion.  You weigh the exact same thing that you did in HS?  Well, that is wonderful.  I - Do NOT.

You're projecting your own insecurities onto other people's marriages. I know my wife's favorite clothing stores, her favorite foods, her dreams, her fears, and her weight. It's one of like 10,000 things I know about her. Duh.[/quote]

eh, if you are in a confident, secure relationship you recognize that your spouse has a right to a certain level of privacy.  You know when your spouse is gaining weight or losing weight, that's good enough for me.[/quote]
