This is why I’ve always bought my kids their own plane tickets even when they were infants. It’s too dangerous to try to hold onto a baby during rough turbulence. The FAA actually advises babies should be in car seats. We aren’t super rich and don’t travel a ton, but I’ve always figured when we do travel that if one extra plane ticket for our baby is going to break our budget then we don’t need to go on that trip any way. I’d never forgive myself if trying to scrimp on a few hundred dollars left my baby with brain damage or worse.
