It’s cold of you to have nicked one or run it over without stopping and at least showing concern. I think it’s cold hearted. You very well know that it doesn’t take five minutes for them to cross the road. You were impatient and could’ve waited. Now legally speaking, I don’t think anyone can do anything to you and you should just keep quiet and hope your house doesn’t get toilet papered.
"Show concern"? WTH. You mean look to see if it's injured and take it to the vet??? It's not a pet. You people are crazy.
Yes, I might be crazy. But if I hit or injure another living thing it does concern me. I’m OK to be in the minority on this and I really don’t care what random Internet strangers think.
So you expect that if someone accidentally runs over a goose, they should take it to the vet and have it treated? I agree that calling animal control to remove an injured or dead animal is a good idea.
I never said that I would expect anyone to take an injured goose to the vet. You’re putting words into my mouth. I think calling animal control to make sure or maybe even just moving it to the side of the road would be concerned. I don’t see where I said anything differently.
I am not touching or moving any dead or wounded goose, squirrel, possum, deer etc to the side of the road. You call the county, let them deal with it. Someone hit a little deer in front of my house once. Called 311 and said they needed to send someone out to remove. Since it was the weekend, they sent a cop. He moved it off the road and county roads guy collected the remains on Monday.
