You realize it isn’t about the kids, don’t you?  Most kids at this age go to Mass at the insistence of their parents, and, as evidenced here, most of you wouldn’t take your kids to Mass while traveling unless you have to.  I teach religious ed, and the parking lot is full of parents who don’t take their kids to Mass.[/quote]

Right- it’s because their parents do not care. They are just checking a box- making sure little Johnny does First Communion so that Grandma doesn’t have a heart attack. A large number only do the sacraments out of a vague sense of tradition or to appease extended family. The question is what to do with those people- I’m not sure there is an easy answer. [/quote]
