Cavs are one breed my vet would not own.  Huge number of serious health problems, including heart, and back issues.  A friend who is involved in Cav rescue lost her last dog at the age of 6.  It's a shame really, because they're lovely dogs.[/quote]

Cav owner here, and they are very prone to health issues.  You have to be prepared to spend a lot of money on them.  We rescued one of ours (we have 2) at age 4, and she recently turned 9.  She has developed the heart problems that most cavs get, and we spend loads of money getting her checked by a cardiologist / getting an echo every six months, and she's on daily medication that so far has been really effective.  We just love her so much. I don't know that we could ever have another breed! [/quote]
