And yes I was abused as a child, but curious as to what you mean by dissociated.[/quote] You are oddly detached from what happened, almost as if you’re reported something you observed from a distance rather than something that happened to you. Dissociation is very common in abuse victims (especially victims of sexual abuse), it’s a protective response to deny the reality of what’s happening To them during episodes of abuse. If you did that when you were abused as a child, it would explain why you did/are doing it now in response to actions by both of your children that may feel reminiscent on some level of the abuse you experienced as a child.[/quote]
