“Rio Lakefront shopping center” in Gaithersburg, MD is almost as urban as lower Manhattan so I can see why you don’t want Suburbans or F150s there.
As I'm sure you know, Rio is pretty darn suburban. And Suburbans *still* don't fit there.
Yep, they don't fit in the parking garage. Next time I'm there I'm going to take pictures with my phone and post them here for people to see.
Don't be ridiculous. I have a Suburban AND an F150, and I've never been anywhere I couldn't drive or park with either of them.
The 2019 Suburban is 224" long and 81" wide - 18.7 ft long, 6.75 ft wide. A standard perpendicular parking space in Montgomery County is 18 ft long, 8.5' wide. So no, Suburbans don't fit. They're 2/3 ft longer than the space, and they leave less than a foot on either side of the space. Hope you don't mind climbing in through the back.
First of all, those are MINIMUM requirements. There's nothing "standard" about it, other than all spaces will be AT LEAST that big. Second, it fits, by your own admission - okay, maybe I hang out a few inches, but really? How I get in and out of it is my problem now, isn't it?
Take your suburban to the parking garage at Rio and see how well you fit. I was there, I saw it with my own two eyes. I also saw people in pickups and large SUV's needing to back up to make a turn around a corner because they couldn't fit in the garage properly with another vehicle coming the other way. If you want to have all large vehicles with no CUV or car that's up to you but don't lie and say it fits perfectly everywhere. I saw it. I was there. Drive your suburban there and park.
