I SAH and I understand when working parents send their kids for colds. But it makes me furious when they send them with fevers, green snot dripping down their face, less than a day after they've been puking. We live in a rich neighborhood and all these people have more money than we do so they are truly just being jerks. I keep my kids home a lot more than most, because, you know, they are sick and it's the right thing for my child and for our community.[/quote]

My divorced and full-time working mom always sent us to school when we were sick. I’ve thrown up in class several times in elementary because she sent me anyway. Even when she picked me up I’d have to go to her office and sit there sick and waiting to go home. I do remember having terrible fevers at babysitters houses but anything less than deathly ill, off we went. I’m sure my teachers hated her. I guess she did what she had to. [/quote]
