Hey, you know what would be a good idea? If MCPS did a county-wide analysis of boundaries, looking at capacity, distance, and demographics. That would really be useful.[/quote]

Yes! People are acting as if this is the first instance of kids being bused past schools closer to their home...this has been going on FOR MANY YEARS! At least 20 years!!  The kids who attend South Lake ES are much closer to Gaithersburg Middle, Forest Oak MS and MV Middle, but they are bused to Neelsville. There are kids in MV who are sent past 3 elementary schools in the Village to South Lake ES; that has been happening for at least 20 years, too. Just because it's been that way for so long doesn't mean that it should continue indefinitely. Eventually, changes in boundaries need to be made, and those boundaries were not guaranteed when you bought your home!
