Just to round this out for context: Fairfax has more people, a younger population, higher property values, higher percentages of adults with high school and college degrees, lower social services assistance payments, higher retail sales, more jobs, shorter commutes, higher median household incomes, more National Merit Semifinalists, higher average SAT scores, a larger and stronger STEM magnet, and a lower poverty rate than Montgomery. Montgomery has more wins in a 25-minute quiz show that, like so many things in that county, almost went out of business recently.
Then it begs the question why can FCPS win it if they are that great? With that larger and stronger STEM and all? It's not for lack of trying.
And why is the proportion of students in MCPS who got on to the more elite universities higher than FCPS. Please don't say FCPS has great in state univ. That is just pathetic to compare GMU to the more well regarded univ. There's nothing wrong with the in state univ, but if you are going to compare like or like, you cannot seriously compare VA in state (or MD in state) to the higher rated univ.
