Of course I reuse before washing. Several times. I also reuse my sheets, my dishcloths, and my towels before washing. A discreet dab of sauce from the corner of my mouth does not warrant laundering the entire napkin.
Gross. I assume napkins are labeled with your family members’ names so you aren’t sharing “sauce from...[your] mouth”? Once again, gag.
Yes, everyone keeps their napkin from meal to meal. No need to wash after every meal.
Where do you store them between meals to grow bacteria and ferment?
That doesn't actually happen.
Why wouldn't it happen? You are leaving old food and saliva sitting around on a cloth. It is like a petri dish.
It is not like a Petri dish. How do you feel about lipstick?
I don't dip it in milk!
New poster. We use 100% cloth napkins and have since before our kids were born. We generally change napkins 2-3 times per week. It's not often that our napkins get dipped in milk, but if one did, we'd swap it out. We definitely swap out if we eat something messy like barbecue ribs or lobster. If we're not doing laundry right away, I keep the dirty, but not too dirty napkins around to wipe up spills, etc... before they're washed.
