And you didn't realize that when they could, Asian Americans fought for their civil rights where they lived. Congratulations on your ignorance.
+1 I also do not understand what the PP's point or rant is even about on that angle. Is she saying that its fine for white people to discriminate against asians because in her limited understanding of history asians have not fought back enough? Its OK to discriminate as long as the minority group is perceived to be weak? They have to earn their own rights to be treated equal under the law? It would be nice if the US could just stop with the obligatory hazing and bigotry of whatever new ethnic or racial groups lands on our shores. There's a pattern here that is not difficult to recognize. The other aspect of this situation that boggles my mind is how white people scream that asians are stealing their spots simply because they asians study too much and prep which is not fair to whites who want more leisure time. Try considering what you would do if you knew that your child had to score 20 points or 100 points higher because of their skin color? You would either give up or work harder. I think many whites are just angry that the asian response to whites trying to contain their success is to work harder. Asians were supposed to give up and take a back seat to the whites. They haven't and this makes the whites unhappy.
NP. The PP was responding specifically to a poster who claimed Asians hadn't been pulled into into "Black and Latino nonsense" or something like that. It's reasonable to push back on that and point out that Black and Latino people were targeted for their activism, and that Asian folks basically sat out the movements that guaranteed large parts of the community the franchise, and a living wage as agricultural workers.
