As somebody who started first grade at five, I am shocked to meet these 7-year-old first graders. But such is our world. In basketball, I suspect this is substantially more prevalent once top recruits have been identified and precisely because height and speed are more directly relevant in basketball recruiting at a time when growth rates can vary significantly.
