I love that DCI is a "relatively new school" in your mind, but Macfarland, which is YEARS newer (I think their first dual language feeder cohort is in 6th grade this year) is a "very poor performing school." Point made.
DCI is starting their 5th year. MacFarland their 3rd year. Sure 2 years difference is “Years” newer. Yep, those 2 years explain the night and day difference between competency of the 2 schools. DCI 61%/41%. Macfarland 24%/12%. Try again. It’s not just because of dual language either if that’s your answer. It’s a better curriculum with IB and it’s peer groups, which leads to buy in from middle class families. They are clamoring to get into DCI. I can tell you no one is saying I’m looking at Macfarland with those numbers. Doubt any middle class family is putting their kid there, dual language track/feeder or not.
